Who we are

etf.ie is an independent personal finance information website focused on ETF investing in Ireland. References to "we", "us", or "our" in this policy refer to the operator of etf.ie. Our contact address is [email protected].

1. Data you provide voluntarily

2. Analytics data

Where analytics tools are used, they are configured to not collect personally identifiable information or set tracking cookies without your consent.

etf.ie does not use Google Analytics. If a privacy-respecting analytics tool is introduced (such as Fathom or Plausible), this policy will be updated accordingly.

3. Server logs

Like all websites, our hosting provider (Cloudflare) automatically records standard server log data when you visit — including your IP address, browser type, referring URL, and pages requested. This data is retained for a short period for security and operational purposes and is not used to identify individual users.

Cookies

etf.ie does not use any tracking cookies, advertising cookies, or third-party analytics cookies. We do not display cookie consent banners because we do not set non-essential cookies.

Your browser may store session-related technical data (such as form state) that is not transmitted to us and is deleted when you close your browser.

Affiliate links and third parties

Some links on etf.ie are affiliate links to brokers and financial services providers. When you click these links and visit a third-party website, that site's own privacy policy applies. We do not share your personal data with affiliate partners, and affiliate links do not enable tracking of your activity on etf.ie.

Third-party websites linked from etf.ie — including broker platforms and Revenue.ie — are not covered by this privacy policy. Please review their privacy policies before providing them with any personal data.

Legal basis for processing

Where we process personal data, the legal basis is one of the following:

• Contact enquiry emails: retained for up to 12 months, then deleted.
• Server logs: retained by Cloudflare per their standard retention policy (typically up to 30 days).

• Rectification: ask us to correct inaccurate data.
• Erasure: ask us to delete your personal data ("right to be forgotten").

• Withdraw consent: where processing is based on consent, withdraw it at any time (this does not affect the lawfulness of prior processing).

International transfers

Our website is hosted on Cloudflare's infrastructure, which operates globally. Cloudflare is subject to the EU–US Data Privacy Framework and provides appropriate safeguards for any transfers of data outside the European Economic Area.

Children's privacy

etf.ie is not directed at children under the age of 18. We do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
